The Young Scientists Workshop, which has been held every year in recent years before the National Symposium on Zoonoses Research, offered young scientists working in national zoonoses research the opportunity to develop their professional skills with the help of various training units. The junior scientists' workshops included training sessions on "Scientific Writing", in which the preparation, structure and development of a scientific concept and the use of adequate formulations were taught. The training "Presenting (in) Science - How to own the stage on international conferences" addressed the correct presentation of one's own research results. Against the background of increasing interdisciplinary cooperation in zoonoses research, the training "Introduction to interdisciplinary communication, presentation and collaboration" was offered for the first time in 2018.
The Young Scientists Workshop 2018 took place from 15 - 16 October 2018 at the Federal Ministry for Risk Assessment (BfR) at the Jungfernheide site in Berlin. (Follow-up report)
For the future, the Zoonoses Platform has decided to replace the workshop for young scientists by a biennial Autumn School. The biennial rhythm is intended to achieve a stronger concentration of our promotion of young scientists.
The next Autumn School is scheduled for October 2021. It will take place in the run-up to the annual symposium. We will provide you with up-to-date information on our homepage as soon as possible.
