Immediate Action Programme for Influenza Research

The Immediate Action Programme for Influenza Research is part of the research agreement on zoonoses between the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and the Federal Ministry of Health.
Within the framework of this programme, researchers seek to close knowledge gaps in our understanding of the highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza and the related pandemic risks. Furthermore, the programme facilitates the development of strategies to combat avian flu, including new detection techniques and new vaccines for cats. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the Paul-Ehrlich-Institute (PEI) as well as the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institute (FLI) are involved in this programme.
The Immediate Action Programme for Influenza Research have been finished 2010.
